Myth: More Content = More Sales

But this topic is really what fueled this bundle and really what made it be what it became. And so I’m not going to share any of the bundle details here. I really just want to focus on this concept of the fact that you need to create more and more and more in order to get better results, because I just really don’t believe this is true.

I don’t believe that if you create more fresh content that it’s going to increase your leads and sales. There’s just so much more involved than just getting more content out there.

And this is really something that is kind of like a pet peeve of mine, because I know when I first started, so I started off as a blogger. And when I first got into this space, that was the messaging that I heard. That was what all of these big names were telling me that I had, that had reeled me into this online space.

It was no, no, no. Like you cannot publish your blog until you have more than 20 blog posts ready to go because you need to have a lot of content. Like that was the messaging I kept hearing over and over and over again.

And even till this day, I’ll see in some Facebook groups where it’s like, oh my gosh, like, how do you keep up? Like, I’m trying to write two blog posts a week, but I just can’t keep up.

And it’s like, no. I’m like, you don’t have to do that. You don’t have to do anything that you don’t want to, that you can’t keep up with.

The fact that you feel, the, or not you specifically, hopefully you don’t feel this way, but the fact that content creators are feeling this type of pressure to keep producing more and more and more is the reason why so many of them are burning out. And why many don’t even make it past the six month mark, because it feels like a lot.

And yes, we do a lot and we do have to do a lot but creating more and more and more content isn’t one of them, because that is not really what is going to get the needle moving in your business. So we don’t want you to feel that pressure of having to produce fresh content regularly.

Myth Debunked. Here’s the Real Secret

So instead, here is what I’m proposing or here is what I am going to kind of debunk this myth with, because what I feel is the real secret to creating impactful content isn’t to create more and more and more.

It’s about using the right tools and strategies to make the most out of your content, while saving time and therefore boosting your sales in the process.

Quality Over Quantity

So it’s about quality over quantity. In the most basic simplest forms. It’s about quality over quantity. I mean sure. Like yes. If you were to create more content, you could potentially increase your engagement and reach, but this is only true if the content that you’re producing is good. It is quality content because otherwise it’s still like throwing spaghetti at the wall.

If you are creating bad content, which I know you’re not. I know you’re trying really, really hard not to, and therefore guess what’s happening. You’re probably getting closer to burnout because you feel like, okay, You might be a perfectionist like me.

And so you’re trying really, really hard to make everything that you produce as perfect as possible, but you also have in the back of your head that you need to post every single day on Instagram or on TikTok, or you need to create a blog post or a podcast episode or a YouTube video every single week. And you just can’t keep up with that.

And I see it all the time. I see it where someone starts to stress out and they’re like, I missed last week or I’m about to miss this week. Like what’s going to happen. Is Google going to hate me? I need to take a breather because I could go on a long rant about this. Like, no. Google will not hate you. Your audience will not hate you. Okay.

You just need to focus on quality over quantity. That outperforms anything, every single time. And in fact, the fact that more people are starting to use AI,

more people are also going to use their AI generated content and just post it as is without adding their own voice to it which is not what we want you to do.

That is kind of like posting just more and more and more content because they’re not editing it. They’re not making it their own. They’re not adding their own voice to it. And eventually, that’s only going to be sustainable for so long.

You as someone who’s producing quality content, even if it’s at a slower pace, will outperform all of those AI generated copied and pasted content out on the internet. And your business will be more sustainable. So quality over quantity, always. Okay.

Make the Most Out of Your Current Content

The second thing is that you really want to make the most out of the content that you already have. So one big mistake that I see happen a lot, and this is something that I have still been working to bring all of my old content back to life as well, because it’s a never ending cycle. Right.

But the one mistake that I see is that you create all of this amazing content and then you only post it out there one time.

Whenever you release a new podcast episode, you only release it and announce it one time. And maybe you do a great job at announcing it in all of the places. Maybe you share it with your email list. You make a blog post out of it. Maybe you even repurpose it to YouTube and create a couple of reels and TikTok videos. And then that’s it.

And like episode two from way back when it never gets marketed again. And yeah, like I said, I am also finding ways to repurpose all of my existing content because you don’t have to reinvent the wheel.

And in fact, if there’s a week where you’re like, I am just not feeling this or something happened and you just don’t know what to do, you just need a break. Like, let’s be real. If you just need a break, you can just reshare an older piece of content that was either very popular or maybe it didn’t get as much engagement as you had hoped.

Bring that back out. Let people know about it. It doesn’t always have to be new in order for it to be valuable.

And actually, this is something that I do all the time with my mom blog email list. I still have that one running in the background, except for blog posts. I have not written a new blog post in months, but I do still email my list every few weeks.

I try at least twice a month and I’m not emailing them new content because I don’t have new content. I am bringing back old content or I’m using old blog posts that I know can be helpful and just repackaging it in a different way to give them those new, helpful tips.

So you don’t have to start over. You don’t have to reinvent the wheel. You can repurpose your content over and over and over again for many years to come. And especially your long form content.

By long form content, I’m talking about your blog posts, your podcast episodes and your YouTube videos. Those are generally called long form pieces of content and those make fabulous ways to repurpose your content easily.

Use conversion-focused strategies

So the next thing is you want to use conversion focused strategies within your content. This, my friend, is what will actually increase your leads and sales. Because again, this really goes back to focusing on quality over quantity.

But on top of that, this is really a more advanced strategy to really help you get the most out of your content. But not just in the, in the way that I mentioned about resharing or, or re-purposing I’m saying more as improving the content itself.

Even though it’s already like an amazing, valuable, type of blog, post or video or reel, Your goal is to get leads and sales. More than likely, that’s what you’re in business for, right? You want to get leads and you want to get sales.

And so by focusing on conversion-focus strategies, there’s very subtle tweaks that you can make to certain pieces of content to really maximize the amount of leads in sales you get per piece of content.

So here’s some examples. Anyone can add random affiliate links to their blog post or their email, but how do you actually get the person reading to click on that affiliate link? Without being clickbaity. Right. We’re honest and ethical so you want them to click because they actually know what they’re clicking to. Right.

But more so, how do you get them to buy? So we are trying to get affiliate commission, and so the way that you share about this product that you’re recommending, there’s certain copy, certain tips and strategies that can help you get the click and encourage them to buy the product or the resource.

Another example is anyone can really put up a tripwire or limited time easy yes offer to appear after someone opts into their resource. And I’m saying like, you could put a sales page up, add a timer, add a discount, and that is what you show the person on the other side.

However, there’s a couple of different things that go along with that, like how do you know which offers to put?

So, I don’t know whether you have one or three or 10 different freebies that you’re offering. How do you know what to use as your limited time offer? And how do you know what price? And how do you know for how long you’re going to make that available? And how do you make your sales page actually convert into sales?

These are the types of things that I’m talking about when I’m saying use conversion focused strategies. Because it’s not just about writing more content, it’s about making your content better and making your content better in a way that’s actually going to encourage your readers or the scrollers to take the action that you want them to take.

Improves Productivity & Saves You Time

And then in summary, by doing all of this collectively, here is kind of like where the productivity and time-saving aspect comes into play.

Because when you follow all of these tips, not only are you optimizing your entire content creation and marketing process, but you’re also saving a lot of time because you’re learning how to write the content, already put in these conversion focused tweaks and strategies into it the first time that you create it and already have ideas on when you can reshare and how you can repurpose it.

So you’re saving time and you’re optimizing your workflows. Once you put all of these strategies together, you’re going to get better and faster at doing this, and it’s going to take you less time to do so. And it’s going to make you more money at the same time.

So, this is all why I really believe that you don’t need to create more and more, more and more content. And why I really hope that you feel okay when something happens and you just can’t get a certain piece of content out there at the time that you had hoped. Like give yourself permission to take a week off, to take a break.

Give yourself the okay to relax, even though you were supposed to send out an email yesterday morning and you’re just like, I just, I can’t. It’s OK. All right.
